There has been a whirlwind of goodness happening around here. I don’t take that for granted, either; trust me. Over the last couple of years there have been some hard things that have preceded the good, so I plan to ride out this wind of delight with gratefulness.

On the heels of a wonderful proposal and engagement weekend, we find ourselves in the midst of wedding planning, which has my mind is a jumble of happy creativity. Outside, and seemingly in tandem, every single tree is budded out, perennials are making their appearance, birds are nesting, and the sun, while warming, still has it’s full-force in hibernation for a little while longer, bowing in deference to a sweet, cool breeze. It seems this new season, itself, is echoing my own happy heart.

And maybe that’s it…a NEW season. Everything is new.

TimeHop reminded me that six years ago, this last weekend, we were celebrating a new life in our family with a baby shower. I laughed when I saw those pictures (after I teared up a little – she’s almost SIX!)  because in front of me was a computer opened up to Etsy wedding offerings. But it was such an awesome reminder that God is in the business of second chances…of making things new.

If you’re in a desolate, frigid winter season right now, where things seems dead and beyond repair, wait. Spring is coming. Spring ALWAYS comes, reviving trees that have looked lifeless for months, and pushing bits of green up from empty earth. Trust Him, because He makes all things new.

ALL THINGS.

You let me know when you find the sweet birds of spring singing your heart’s song. We can ride out the wind of delight together.
