Remember the whole gun safe incident?

Well, I’m happy to report (no, really, I am) that I was wrong and Kevin was right. He went to the doctor for x-rays, and his thumb was not broken, but had suffered, instead, a severe contusion. It’s still dang swollen and very, very sore, and throbbed an extra measure every time he walked past the gun safe still sitting in the garage.

Until last night.

He called a moving company that does delivery for the place where he bought the safe, and they came with the proper equipment and TWO people, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. They left a couple of cards on the counter, along with the receipt. One was turned over and said this:

If you meet me, and walk away, you’ve lost nothing. If you meet Christ, and walk away, you’ve lost everything.

That, right there, is the answer to handling the burdens in our lives. Every single time we are faced with the weight of a new one, He is right there, ready to hoist it up and walk alongside us until we’ve received whatever insight and growth we’re meant to receive from the challenge. But if we see Him there, and walk away, dragging that thing behind us, we can’t focus on the positive take away. We are too distracted by the weight of what we’re carrying.

So, I’ll say it again. Hand it over to a Professional. He’ll help you get the job done and learn a little something in the process.

Grow you a little.

Stretch you a little.

He’s the answer to handling the burdens in our lives.

He’s the answer to everything.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22 ESV
