Happy Easter! How appropriate that as we celebrate new life through Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection, we also mark the end of our first quarter praying together for new life! This is our 12th week as a prayer team, and I pray that if you originally committed to pray for 3 months, you’ll consider extending your commitment for another three, six or more!

If you’re like me, you’ve been wondering about the results of Red Envelope Day. You may have received this article linked from an email if you committed to participate, but if not, here is an excerpt to do some praising over!

The White House mail office has confirmed it received a “deluge” of as many as 2.25 million red envelopes symbolizing the empty promise of lives snuffed out in abortion in a massive campaign that was larger than most White House mailing movements in the last 35 years.

White House mail worker “Steve” has handled letters for 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for more than three decades. Every single package and letter destined for the White House goes through his office.

Asked if he has seen a flood of red envelopes bound for the White House, Steve chuckled.

“Uh, yes,” he said emphatically. “Believe me, they made it here.”

Steve said while Obama has been occupied in Europe, his administration has noticed millions of red envelopes on behalf of aborted children.

“Quite frankly, there was definitely a deluge of mail coming through,” he laughed. “I had to handle them all.”

“I’ve been here 35 years, so I’ve seen presidents come and go,” Steve told WND. “This campaign ranks up there with the big ones.”

Isn’t that marvelous? I also received an email from Life Issues Institute stating the same results of the Red Envelope Project, but I wanted to share how they closed the email:

Please pray that this project changes the President’s heart on abortion and that he acts to protect unborn babies from a violent and brutal death.

We aren’t the only ones praying for the President’s heart to change!

SCRIPTURE FOCUS

We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4 NIV

Father God, we come to you today – many believers, one voice – to stand for life. We come in celebration this day over Your defeat of death and the advent of eternal freedom to all captives of sin! Even as we praise You for this new life we enjoy through Christ, we lift up the new life that struggles to be born into our society…the new life that may not have a chance to live out its purpose in Your plan. Lord we pray that President Obama would make the correlation between the rebirth and renewal of Easter and the lives that hang in the balance of new legislation and the recension of old. As he seeks to unite America, open his ears to hear the cries of ALL of her people; make us bold, Father, so that he doesn’t mistake the voice of the few as the voice of the whole. In the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST WE PRAY, Amen.

As always, sign in, and if you’re renewing or extending your commitment, let us know that too! (That also goes for the 237 of you over on Facebook!)
