I’ve had a lot on my mind today. There are concerns weighing on me, and while I’ve laid them before the Lord, I’ve still had somewhat of a heavy heart. On top of that, I had to go to the grocery store. Now, I really like to cook, but HATE to go to the grocery store. I tend to put it off until there is nothing in the house, and after being gone for a week, the cupboards were definitely bare. So, I packed up my heavy heart and my shopping list and made the trip to my local Sweetbay.

I got a cart that had a wobbly wheel, and for some reason kept using it in hopes that it would miraculously stop making that noise.  It didn’t.  But, it was getting full so I kept squealing and knocking my way through the store, my mood disintegrating by the second.
I struggled with my heavy, lame cart into the produce section and stopped in front of the lettuces, when I heard it.  A voice announced, loudly:
Please Step Away From the Produce!
Then, a loud crack of thunder sounded with the reality of an impending Florida downpour.  I stepped back, a little stunned.
I was trying to put it all together when the produce sprayers started their wash cycle on the lettuce and a song started playing which surprised me even more:

I laughed out loud.  It was just what I needed – a reminder that my God has got the storm under control and I am free to SING!  I hummed along and had a bit of a Kelly-esque spring in my step all the way to the check out.

Is it raining in your world?  Relax and join me for a little “Singin’ in the Rain”!
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.  Psalm 107:29 (NIV)
