Almost exactly a year ago, I met a new friend.

She was really struggling with a particular relationship in her life, and couldn’t understand why she couldn’t seem to let it go and move past it. At that time, she’d recently moved to a new location, and after listening to her for a while, it seemed that the Lord had moved her away from the situation in order to heal and restore.

A year later, He’s done a lot of healing. He’s taken places she didn’t even realize were broken and healed those, too. He’s freed her from the chains that had formed around her heart, and yesterday, out of the blue, He opened a door toward restoration.

He had set her apart to work on her heart, and now, it seems to be time to work on the relationship.

Admittedly, when the call came so unexpectedly, some of the old fear and anxiety crept in. But she quickly disarmed it with prayer. She gathered facts, put healthy boundaries in place, and, this morning, when I awoke, I had this text waiting for me:

Join me in thanking God for this opportunity to face this giant head on.”

This opportunity to face a giant. What a perspective change!

What giants are you up against today? Is brokenness keeping you cowering in the corners of your chained up heart? There is a God bigger than any giant trying to beat down your door, and He’s ready to heal you, so you can face that giant with His strength.

Opportunity may be knocking. Why not answer?

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” John 10:10 AMP

“Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That’s my gift to the conquerors!” Revelation 3:20 MSG
