Our Hope for the Trail fundraising campaign is coming to a close in about 27 hours. In the midst of it, we’ve welcomed (and enjoyed the heck out of) our new stud colt, Flynn, made some significant transitions (more on that later), and have still managed to raise almost $13,000.

Because he promised, and you came through, Kevin also managed to squeeze in a trip to Walmart with the dear ol’ Uni-lazy. It took great courage and denial of dignity, but he pressed through and made me proud. So, without further ado, I present the following…

Sometimes you’re called to do something that makes you incredibly uncomfortable. You’re pushed WAY out of your comfort zone to make strides for the greater good. You step out in faith, because you know that’s the only way the thing will happen…through the strength of One much greater than yourself.

And I’m not just talking about wearing a Uni-lazy to Walmart.

No.

I’m talking about life, in general.

We’re all called to do things that make us uncomfortable because that’s how we learn to lean on God and stretch our faith. If we stay where we are nice and cozy, we don’t really need Him, do we? But you know what else?

We don’t get anything important accomplished.

Things that matter.

Things that make a difference in others and for the Kingdom.

That’s why Kevin wore my Uni-lazy to Walmart. He believes in what we’re doing out here. We both do, and that’s why we continue to ask for your help, even though that puts us outside our comfort zone, too. We stepped out in faith, bought this property and put our own investments into a barn and covered arena, because we felt like that’s what God was asking us to do.

And in the midst of the discomfort, we’re believing that HE will be the one to make it go.

Something important is being accomplished out here. Hope will spread throughout a community that needs it…to those with two legs, and those with four legs, and sometimes, no legs at all.

Would you consider stepping out here with us into the Great Uncomfortable?

It will all be worth it when we can stand back and watch the spectacle He lays out before us. Kind of like the people in the aisles of Walmart, watching a grown man in a big, brown Uni-lazy.

Thank God, then, for our Lord Jesus, the Anointed, the Liberating King, who brought us victory over the grave. My dear brothers and sisters, stay firmly planted—be unshakable—do many good works in the name of God, and know that all your labor is not for nothing when it is for God. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 VOICE
