You are two years old today, which is unreal to me. It seems we just brought your tiny self home from the hospital, our St. Patty’s Day baby, the first boy for your Papa and me. I’m not sure you’ll ever realize the thrill in that, as, even though your Papa has loved all of his girls so much, there was a part of him that always hoped for a little boy to enter our lives. We couldn’t have asked for any better than you.

What’s even better is that you love both of us, your Papa and “Ninnie.” You get equally excited to see us both, completely comfortable in our presence, as we want all our grandkids to be. You are so happy, and so funny, with all your little expressions of delight at everything around you, especially anything related to transportation!

“Car!”

“Tain!”

“Tactor!”

“Awnna!”

That last one is airplane, which I feel confident you’ll say perfectly one day, but it’s mighty cute just the way it is, and it’s your absolute FAVORITE.

After just spending time with you, here at the ripe old age of two, I’ve noticed a couple of things. You’ve got your daddy’s easy-going nature, and your mother’s ease around people, which has been apparent from the beginning, and you’ve got a loving heart like them both. But you’re beginning to show some of her drive and determination. While that may end up giving them a run for their money, as you grow, I’m really glad of it, because all of these traits will add up to a wonderful, well-rounded man.

Loving.

Caring.

Rolling with the punches, but drive and ambition enough to make things happen.

These things make for a strong leader, whether in business, family, or most importantly, faith. God made you this way, my sweet little man, and He doesn’t make mistakes.

He makes masterpieces.

Keep holding His hand, and He’ll paint your life into something spectacular.

Happy birthday Brody!

Your Mimmie loves you…as big as the sky!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well. ~ Psalm 139:14 NIV
