I have this really cool tablet, with a quote at the bottom of each page that you can tear off and tuck in a lunch box, or tie to a gift. My mom bought it for me on the sly, right when we were in the same store, and I have benefited from her sneakiness, because I absolutely adore it. And why wouldn’t I, really? It provides a place to write words AND has words of wisdom included! Speaking my love language right there!

I tore off the last page I’d used, to garner a fresh new sheet, when I glanced down to read the quote. I immediately cut it into strips and took a picture of it to throw out to the far reaches of the Inter-world.

My first thought upon reading it, is that I wanted to establish a new political party: The Possibilitarians. Maybe our symbol would be a sunrise. It may not seem all that strong a symbol to you, but I would completely disagree. It’s always darkest before the dawn, after all, which rises every single day with new possibilities…another chance to write a different story…another chance to change your course and walk a different way. Lord knows we need that politically (and as Forrest Gump would say, “That’s all I’m going to say about that.”), but don’t we need it personally, too?

Don’t we all need to remember that if we are not going in a right direction, we don’t have to stay there…that there is always a possibility of something better?

I’m pretty sure that God didn’t intend for the sun to rise every day only to shed light on the earth, but maybe to also shed a little light on the path He wants us to take. If it’s dark where you are, look for the light, because there’s a new story waiting to be written there, as you walk along.

Yes, it’s as full of possibility as a blank page on a tablet (and He’s even thrown in a Book full of wisdom in the bargain).

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
  they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin.” 1 John 1:6-7 MSG

For I am about to do something new.
    See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
    I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 NLT

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
