I had the incredible treat, yesterday, of getting my hair done by my old stylist from when I lived here a few years ago. I’ve really missed her, and on top of just doing a great job on my hair, we have similar heartbeats when it comes to living life. It was a pleasure to be in her chair again.

While the color was doing its magic on my glistening roots, I made a trip to the bathroom, and looked up to see one of those framed hair model shots you often see in salons. The model was beautiful, and had down-turned eyes, making the focus more on her hair, but there was something that seemed so familiar about her. Then I realized it was her cute nose. I knew that nose! I actually walked back out, grabbed my phone, and went back in to snap a picture and text a friend. “Is this you?” I asked. With an LOL, she answered yes!

That beautiful model is a darling friend of mine whom the Lord has, through a series of path-crossings, brought into my life so that we could do a little journeying together. It’s funny how often He brings her to mind, prompting me to pray for her, or message her, having me read something or dropping something into my mind that she might need to hear. But this…this was the most straight-forward message I’d received! He literally placed her before me, even though she lives in a different state!

I don’t know about you, but I need a lot of repetition in my life before things start to stick. I, especially now that I’m hitting the half-century mark, can’t always count on my brain to remind me of important things. So I love that the Lord repeats things He wants me to learn, or places people before me whom He wants me to love on or pray for, over and over. That way, I know it’s from Him. Maybe you’ve noticed a theme running through your life lately, a verse that keeps popping up in different places, or a person you keep running into all of a sudden. It’s very possible God’s trying to get your attention.

I’m thankful for the patience of God. I’m so glad He knows how many times it takes me to really get something. Frankly, if I had to repeat something that often, I would probably give up. But not God. He knows me and loves me, and that, too, is something He tells me over and over and over again. I bet if you pay attention, you’ll realize He’s repeating it to you, as well, every bit as often.

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 ESV

The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion…” Numbers 14:18 NLT

For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.” Job 33:14 NLT
