See these beautiful ladies?  These are a few my fellow heiresses.  There are a three highly recognizable heiresses (if you happen to be part of the Siesta Kingdom) front-row center, and back-row right.  And that one smack in the middle is recognizable only is you’re among the tens of people that read this blog every day!

If you’ve been blog-hopping regarding Living Proof Live and the Siesta Fiesta, not only have you seen a million pictures (not from me – sigh – but from people with functioning cameras), but you’ve also seen over and over how people are struggling to even begin to write about what was taught. Mostly, they’re taking it a little piece at a time.  In this post, I’m going to attempt to give an overview of the entire topic, then in the next couple of posts, focus on some points that were particularly powerful to me.

The topic that Beth spoke about at the conference was “inheritance”; the focus text being Psalm 16, especially verses 5 and 6.  In the ESV, it reads:
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; You hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places,
indeed I have a beautiful inheritance.

We learned that God’s Inheritance always involves three things:
  1.  Presence (His) – Joshua 1:9
  2.  People (Relationship) – Genesis 12:3Revelation 7:9
  3.  Property – Numbers 26:52-56, Matthew 25:34
We were given 8 points to remember:
  1. I am an heir of God. My life is not left to chance.
  2. I am an heir of God. I am inheriting a kingdom.
  3. I am an heir of God. He is my portion…and I am His.
  4. I am an heir of God. The down-payment has been made.
  5. I am an heir of God. My boundary lines form a pleasing place.
  6. I am an heir of God. The will has been activated.
  7. I am an heir of God. I can be secure.
  8. I am an heir of God. I have a beautiful inheritance.
Do you know what it means to be an heir?  Probably the most famous heir of our current age, happens to be an heiress

I’m not sure she’s given heiresses in general a very good name!  In fact, we were told in the conference that Paris Hilton was quoted as saying “the worst sin an heiress can commit is to be boring”!  What?!  If only that was truly the worst sin!
According to Dictionary.com:
heir – (noun):  1. a person who inherits or has a right of inheritance in the property of another following the latter’s death.  2. a person who inherits or is entitled to inherit the rank, title, position, etc., of another.
With this definition, becoming an heir requires that someone dies.  In other words, someone has to die before a will is activated and there is anything to inherit.  In our case, the person who died is Christ.  So, in His death we become heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, sharing the very same inheritance as the SON OF GOD!  Think about that.  We are heirs of God, co-heirs with Christ. And, not only that, but we are God’s inheritance!  Deuteronomy 32:9 tells us this:
For the LORD’s portion is his people…

The God of the universe, Who not only is the owner of all the world but is the very One who created it – the God who has access to all the riches on earth and in heaven – chooses US as His portion, His inheritance. He is our portion and we are His.  I ask you, why in the world do we struggle with our own value, when God obviously counts us of great worth?
Sweet friends, you don’t have to be a rich, thin, blond, designer-hand-bag-carrying owner of a very spoiled chihuahua to be an heiress! All it takes is a mustard-seed of faith to secure that title and give you the promise of a beautiful inheritance, now and for eternity.
Believe it. Stand on it. Find your security in it.
