From the moment my plane touched down from Europe, I’ve been waiting for today, when I’ll be on another plane, taking off.

To Florida.

To my babies.

It seems like F O R E V E R  since I saw them. Brody’s right at the same size Lilli was at a year, and he’s only 7 and a half months! He’s walking around the furniture already, and was just starting to push up on all fours when we were last together. I’m amazed at how Lilli’s sentences are so much more maturely put together, and how long her curly hair is getting. Things change in a blink of an eye, and it’s almost more than I can take.

I love the moment when I first see the kids, upon arrival. Lilli is always filled with anticipation, just like me, and she’s always about to bust when she sees me, speeding toward me like a rocket, then just staring at my face in disbelief that I’m actually there, in the flesh. It’s so precious, and the happiness we share is the stuff of heaven.

It seems that we’re always waiting for something, doesn’t it? Always looking just beyond our crazy lives and circumstances for something good to come around the corner? I was asked not long ago if I ever didn’t have a happy ending. That question kind of broke my heart, because bad stuff happens to everybody. EVERYBODY. Things don’t go our way, or are out of our control. Things break and people get sick and important things are lost. There is no one exempt from the disappointments of life, including me. But there is always, ALWAYS good to be found in the midst, and if you are in Christ, there IS a happy ending, no matter what life has thrown at you.

At the end of all this, love wins. It was guaranteed, and signed in blood, on a lonely hill called Calvary, 2000 years ago. If you take hold of that Cross, the momentary mess of this life will be but a blip on your eternal timeline. He’ll come for you, a ROYAL PRINCE on a white charger, right around the corner of your brokenness to wisk you away to your happy ending.

Yours and mine.

I don’t know about you, but I plan to speed toward Him like a rocket, then just stare at His face in disbelief that He’s actually there, in the flesh. It’ll be so precious, and the happiness we share will not just be the stuff of Heaven.

It’ll be Heaven itself.

“But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” 2 Peter 3:13 ESV

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:1-5 ESV

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28 ESV

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.” Revelation 19:11 ESV
