Greetings from the Lone Star State! Yes, I’m back in Texas with my man, for a search for some land to retire to on down the road, and some R&R back “home”. I’ve been filing away some thoughts that have been coming to me during this trip, but they will take a little longer to convey than a quick stop for some coffee shop wi-fi will allow. However, in the mean time, I have something I’d like to tell you about and a giveaway as an accompaniment!
You may recall that I spent part of my trip to Texas last month with Debbie Williams of Hill Country Ministries. Debbie and I first “met” when I ordered her prayer journal and began following her blog. Back in April, the Lord impressed upon her to take the principles in her book Pray with Purpose – Live with Passion to all the states across the nation. This may not seem like an unusual thing to do, as an author and a speaker, but God didn’t just ask her to do it – He asked her to do it for FREE! So, P.R.A.Y. with Passion Across the Nation was born.
Debbie is going to be coming to my home church in January 2009. She would love to come to your home church as well! This is not only a great opportunity for large churches and community outreach, but a unique possibility for smaller churches that would normally not be able to afford such an event. For information about the event itself, visit Debbie’s Across the Nation web page or contact Debbie directly, at [email protected].
The information contained in her book is excellent and will benefit your prayer life, whether you’ve been a long-time prayer warrior or are just starting to understand prayer. Because I feel so strongly about what she’s doing and about prayer itself, I’m going to give away a copy of her book:
and a signed copy of her prayer journal (the one Beth Moore uses and spoke about on her blog):
Leave a comment and you will be entered to win the set of books. The winner will be determined and contacted on Saturday the 27th, when I return from Texas.
One of the most important things we can do for the women in our churches is to show them how to strengthen their prayer lives. I think you’ll be as excited as I am to have Debbie come and bless the women in your church, once you read the book and use the journal.
Plus, I just know you’ll love her! :o)
What a wonderful vision the Lord has given her. I love it. Enjoy your stay. It’s a little warm right now, at least here in DFW.

Melinda, prayer is close to my heart, too. I’d love to be entered in your giveaway. Thanks!
Wow Melinda – that’s incredible!
The Lord has called me to be spending more time in prayer, and so I’ve added an extra hour a day of concentrated prayer time. Prayer is the air I breathe and I believe that absolutely nothing happens apart from prayer.
It has encouraged me to read this post today,
Joy
Enjoy!
Love,
Yolanda
Good morning Melinda,
Once again God using you to continue speaking on a theme He is trying to drive home to me.
Have a blessed day!
With much love,
Tammy
A great opportunity!
I hope you have peaceful & safe travels….much love – A'Leisha
I surely could benefit from more prayer. So often my time in prayer is while I am also doing something else. I am sure this ministry will bless in a powerful way.

Oh how wonderful! What a calling! I would love to be entered!
Blessings

With the start of the fall Bible Studies, I am wanting to start a prayer journal. I can’t pass up this opportunity to get started. I hope you have a great time in TX.
What a great idea! I so need to deepen my prayer life. Lots of love to you! Lisa
Thank you Melinda for giving us this opportunity. If I don’t win, I may just have to purchase these books. The ministry sounds great. Love, LINDA
Melinda-
I remember when Beth mentioned Debbie and her book/ministry on her blog. How cool to see how the body of Christ knits together via technology and steps of faith.
Elizabeth
I already have the prayer journal….LOVE IT!!! But, would love to maybe win the book. 😉 I told her in an email that I’m so sad that I didn’t get to visit with her more in SA….I love all that she has to say.
So proud of ya girl. Have fun in TX!!! Praying for you and your sweet family.
Hugs,
Fran
I love the title of the book. Whoever receives these will be blessed I’m sure.
Melinda (responding to a comment you left on my blog) now I will never see Samuel L. Jackson the same… NEVER.
I have been laughing out loud, girl!
And now to be serious… prayer is literally essential to make it through a day.
Bless you!
