Stuck Like Glue

So, lately I've had glue on my mind. Not because I've been crafting, or building, or repairing anything either. Glue has been on my mind because I've been feeling stuck.Major life changes (like a move, for instance), even when welcome, can really do a number on your life. At least for me, there has been, and continues to be a "limbo". Times of loneliness and boredom, on top of frustrations and glitches on both ends of our relocation make this planner-by-nature uncharacteristically "whiny", a complainer and, flat out no fun. While I'm removed from my life in Florida, it almost feels like I can't begin my life here in Texas. In a word: stuck.I've found myself pleading with God for...

Changing One Heart for Many – Week 21

Just joining us? Go here to catch up and join the movement!I love to let you know of tangible ways that you can make your voice heard and affect the cause for the unborn. I received the following note (and link on which to act) from Charmaine Yoest of AUL this week:The U.S. House is beginning to debate HR 2410, the Foreign Relations Reauthorization Act, which would dramatically expand the ability of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to promote abortion in foreign countries and undermine pro-life laws around the world. Section 334 establishes a new “Office for Global Women’s Issues” headed by an ambassador-at-large in the Office of the Secretary of State. This legislation directs that this...

The Hem of Heaven

It was a beautiful evening. The sun was setting in all its glory over a sea of Texas Bluebonnets, a once-a-year view that beckons a pilgrimage of wildflower lovers, birders and Texans of both home and heart.Sitting there on her porch overlooking the land that had been in her family for generations, she shivered a little, pulling her sweater tighter around her, as the evenings were still a little cool here in early spring. She had spent a lifetime of spring breaks here on this ranch with her grandparents, and while, as a young teen, she had yearned to be inside watching her favorite TV shows after dinner, her grandmother had insisted that she watch "God's show" on the porch first. Every...

Changing One Heart for Many – Week 20

Just joining us? Go here to catch up and join the movement!Twenty weeks of praying! What an awesome privilege to join with you in covering our president and this great nation in prayer! Thanks for your continued commitment.I'm sure you were just as dismayed as I to learn about the murder of late-term abortionist, George Tiller. Not only is it morally wrong, of course, but it does absolutely nothing for the pro-life movement, making us look like a bunch of radical extremists. Perhaps you remember our discussion of peaceful and respectful protest; this is one of those instances that makes me think it's more important than ever that we stand firm, but act in respect and love. There was an...
