Cosmetic Surgery

Yes, it's true. I have undergone cosmetic surgery. Now I know this will come as quite a shock to some of you, but there comes a point when you just can't take it anymore; enough is enough! That's when you send a quick email to the good folks at Real Life Designs, and they do the necessary work to freshen you up, or in my case, do a complete blog-lift. Of course I was talking about my blog! What did you think I meant?!So...how do you like it? I love the new look! I hope you'll enjoy it, too, and come back to visit often!  And, if your own cyber-face is looking a little droopy, you'll know where to go! :o)

Thoughts of Mom on Father's Day

Very shortly after Mother's Day, I posted a little tribute to my dad.  So, I thought it only fitting that today's Father's Day post should be about my mom!My mom is a hero to me.  If she were sitting here watching me type this, she would say, "Oh no, Honey, don't write that! For more, see my comment to this post. ]There is an instance in the book where the character of the Holy Spirit stops to collect the tears of the main character, Mack.  The tears are lovingly and gently...

True North

I was reading earlier this week (surprise, surprise) and I ran across the phrase "true north". For some reason, it just stuck with me and I found myself saying it over and over.  "True north"..."True north".  Sort of like when you wake up randomly singing the chorus of "Delta Dawn" and it stays with you all day.  You're welcome. :o)When I read about "true north", it was in a non-fiction context involving direction, and use of a compass.  However, my mind took it to a different place.  I don't know if I can adequately explain, but this is a phrase that I actually feel when I say it.  "True north" speaks to me of centered-ness and grounded-ness, a sense of precise direction and focus in my...
