A Matter of Trust
Boy, it's been a long time since I've blogged. Life has taken the wheel, and the writing down of life has been relegated to the backseat. So, today I'm allowing myself some time to touch base. It doesn't hurt that I happen to be enjoying this chunk of time sitting happily on the beach in Maui, watching and listening to the pounding surf! There is something about extraordinary beauty that stirs creativity in my soul. Perhaps God meant it to be that way, that in His love offering of astounding creation, we would be inspired to make an offering of our own.I read an amazing book on the flight over called The Shack. In it, there were MANY passages that made a lasting impression, but...
He Chose The Nails
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
Why Indeed?
I have a blog friend, Tina, who is a speaker, musician and lover of prison ministry (to find out more about her terrific non-profit, click here.) I greatly admire what she does, even though we've never met. She's one of those gals that I just feel certain would be a good friend. Anyway, her most recent blog post is quite a thought-provoker. I'll direct you to it here. She calls it "Why Do We Come Back For More?". I have to join in and say, "Why Indeed?".
Isn't it almost Easter??
You'd never know it by looking out my back window:
Rubber Band (wo)Man
This week at church, there was a rubber band sitting on every seat. The sermon was about taking risks and allowing God to do in us what we were made to do...expand. It was a great sermon...you can listen to it here (click on "watch this week's sermon"). But it started me thinking in another direction. My friend, Lisa, who is close to my age and is facing her empty nest, read my posts to young moms and asked me if I had a word for us older moms. Specifically, she said, "I can't seem to grab a hold of the empty space and figure out what I'm supposed to do now. How long will it take for me to see a vision of my future and embrace it?" Wow. I was SO at this place a year or two ago....
