Surely you’ve all heard the saying, “a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.” I believe that to be true of our leaders. Their strength depends upon those with whom they surround themselves and from whom they seek council. President Obama is seeking to appoint Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as his Secretary of Health and Human Resources. This appointment would have a profound impact on future pro-life legislation and the protection of legislation already in force. Why? She is the most pro-abortion governor in the country.
Americans United for Life (AUL) has this to say:
So what is her record? As Governor, Sebelius repeatedly vetoed important measures such as abortion clinic regulations, parental involvement laws, and even vetoed measures designed to put common-sense limits on post-viability abortions — abortions done after the unborn child can live outside the womb.
The Sebelius record is filled with actions that made abortions easier to obtain and expanded abortion’s harm to women.
Educate yourself by reading more about Governor Sebelius and her record, then voice your objections to her appointment to your senator. Don’t delay!
“What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,” says the LORD. “You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.” Isaiah 30:1 NLT
Melinda,
This is just another sign that this country is in deep trouble. From the inside out and the outside in, we have allowed our values and our honor to erode in horrific ways.
While I pray that hearts would be turned to Christ, my equally fervent prayer is “Come, Lord Jesus.”
Thank you for keeping our feet to the fire on this important issue.
Leah
Amen. So much to pray for… thank you for keeping my thoughts and prayers in this regard to organized. I love that I am praying with much more focus now.
I have to "amen!" Leah's desire that the Lord come.
It hurts my heart to see how liberal our country and its leaders have become. It's as if everything that seems right to a man is given the green light, while those things precious in God' sight are marginalized.
God bless the voices & actions of those that stand in the gap.
Kathleen
I just sent Senators Chambliss and Isakson my thoughts on this nomination. Thanks for the post, links and your faithfulness.

I could just weep. Our country is just going down hill.
I agree with Leah. Come, Lord Jesus. Until he does we have to continue to be a voice for the voiceless. We have to stand firm and fight.
Love you.

Being from Kansas, I, of course, had heard about the governor’s nomination for a cabinet position, but I have to admit I hadn’t put two and two together on how her pro-abortion policies would carry over into this new position. Just hadn’t been thinking about it… Thanks for the wake-up call, Melinda!
Praying in Oregon.
Melinda,
Amen! I made phone calls today as a participant in Not On My Watch…requesting that senators Not confirm Gov. Sebelius. Thank you so much for providing a place online where we can come together and agree in prayer.
Melinda:
I receive AUL’s email messages. I live in Indiana. One of my senators made it a very time-consuming ordeal to contact his office. But I stuck it out and sent my thoughts anyway. I sent messages to both of them.
Still praying…

Amen!!!
Thank you for the faithfulness of this prayer journey. I don’t always remember to comment but I am with you!
Blessings,
Pat
