If you’ve visited me in the last couple of days, you know that I just wrote about why I’m involved in the fight against abortion. Not only do I see it as an horrific loss of life as far as babies are concerned, but I also see it as “loss of life” for those post-abortive women (and men). Many are “walking wounded”, suffering from what is now known as “Post-Abortion Stress Syndrome” or “PASS” (an off-shoot of the better known “Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder”). Their lives are often never the same, sometimes veering off onto wildly different and destructive paths, until, if they’re lucky, something or someone intervenes with the truth of hope and healing.
There is a marvelous post-abortion healing study available through LifeWay, that is acting as a tool for healing in the hearts of women (and men) all over the nation. It’s called Surrendering the Secret: Healing the Heartbreak of Abortion and here’s a little taste of it from the author, and my dear friend, Pat Layton:
In my last post, I joined forces with Pat for a giveaway of this full DVD Leader’s Kit, to which I’m adding an additional kit. In other words, there are TWO up for grabs! THIS IS A WAY TO BLESS HURTING WOMEN IN YOUR CHURCH, LOCAL PREGNANCY CENTER OR COUNSELING OFFICE with a gift that will keep on giving.
There are several ways to enter (with working links for those who have already tried!):
- Go here to join the Surrendering the Secret Facebook Group, then leave a comment on this STS post that you joined.
- Write your own post and link back to the STS giveaway post, leaving a comment with your post link.
- Finally, leave a comment HERE that you’ve done one or the other! If you entered ONE way, your name will go in the drawing ONE time; if you entered BOTH ways, you name will be entered TWICE.
As a pro-life prayer team, we need to be praying for God to “change one heart for many”, not only to save the lives of the unborn, but to spare the brokenness that is inevitable for those that exercise their freedom to “choose”. And for those that are already broken, we need to be walking alongside them without judgment or condemnation, and be God’s ready vessels, pouring out hope and truth and love.
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Isaiah 61:1 ESV
Looking forward to seeing your entries to win these kits…there are captives waiting to be freed and you could be the one with a key!
Thanks for the facebook link, Melinda. Got all signed up so count me in!
Have a great week!
Cheryl
Thanks for the link….Are you getting settled in
in TEXAS…?
I'm using "Surrendering the Secret" with the DVD and love it!
My client and I just finished the forgiveness chapter and she knows God has forgiven her.
Our center had a memorial for the women and their children lost through abortion this weekend, it was amazing.
In His Grace,
Tammy

Thanks for continuing to share your heart, wisdom & the info!
Okay, Melinda and ladies I meet here, my post today is part of my healing journey. You see, several months ago, sweet Melinda, posted a similar give-away. I had never done any of this blog jumping, but somehow, I clicked and clicked and landed at her lovely blog. God had plans for me!
And now, I am free! My start along this new path is gentle. I am ready, but others in my circle, may not be. I put one foot in front of the other though. We all have room to heal and to be whole. I do hope my reflection on Psalm 86 carries Truth for all of our wounded hearts.
Thank you.
In Christ Alone!
As we know, the balm is found in the wound. His wound. My wound. Our wounds. Whatever our wound, He holds the balm of healing.
