If you’re just joining us, click here to see what this prayer team is all about! While we are a “pro-life” prayer team, we, IN NO WAY, stand in judgment against those who have chosen abortion in the past! We hold you and your heart in the highest esteem and you are SO WELCOME here. Many women (and men) who’ve experienced abortion often hold onto the memory in silence, suppressing feelings of guilt, shame and grief for, quite often, years. If this describes you, and you would like more information on how to find hope and healing, please visit this site, or click on the “contact me” button above.
This is going to be one of those posts where I ask you to exercise your voice and rights as an American citizen. There is a Senate “cloture” vote scheduled for tonight/early Monday morning (around 1:00 AM) to stop debate on the proposed healthcare reform bill. The last “holdout” in the Senate (Sen. Ben Nelson, D-NE) gave into a compromise on abortion, now leading Majority Leader Harry Reid to believe he has the 60 votes needed to stop the debate and move the healthcare bill forward. Below is further explanation from Stop The Abortion Mandate:
PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS TODAY (if you wait until Monday morning, it will be too late!). You can find their numbers HERE. Be sure to tell them that ABORTION IS NOT HEALTH-CARE; PLEASE VOTE AGAINST MANAGER’S AMENDMENT!
There is a time for everything; a season for every activity under heaven
…A time be silent and a time to speak.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7b NIV
Father God, we come to You today – many believers, one voice – to stand for life. Lord, we lift up our Senators today; they have undertaken the responsibility to be our representatives on issues that are important to us. Father, give us the courage to speak up on these issues and give THEM the courage to vote the minds and hearts of their constituency, as the numbers show that the majority of Americans don’t want to pay for abortion – even those who may feel that abortion should be maintained as a right. Lord, we continue prayers for President Obama, for his eyes to be opened in the area of abortion, for his ears to be opened to the people of this country and for his heart to be opened to You. Believing You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, Amen.
Thank you for rallying the ranks once again! What incredible, momentous times are these – and every voice is needed!
You've been on my mind this week, and in my prayers. I know you've got wonderful things planned with your family, and may they be especially precious this year.
Merry Christmas, friend.
Kathleen
Thank you for standing in the gap for the unborn. I made my voice known yesterday.
Abortion touches the lives of so many.
Merry Christmas,
Tammy
I am praying & have contacted my represenatives… Counting on the prayer…
April
My mind cannot wrap around the fact that as we prepare hearts and minds for a most wondrous birthday celebration, a whole lot of our leaders are paving the way for countless babies to die…countless would-be mothers to be scarred…countless tax dollars to help fund it all.
Oh Lord, please have mercy on your children!
Still praying… Even though the prelim vote came in against our position, our God is bigger! Hearts can change. Politicians can find & exercise their integrity and righteousness.
Didn't see this until today (Monday), but still praying…
