If you’re just joining us, click here to see what this prayer team is all about! While we are a “pro-life” prayer team, we, IN NO WAY, stand in judgment against those who have chosen abortion in the past! We hold you and your heart in the highest esteem and you are SO WELCOME here. Many women (and men) who’ve experienced abortion often hold onto the memory in silence, suppressing feelings of guilt, shame and grief for, quite often, years. If this describes you, and you would like more information on how to find hope and healing, please visit this site, or click on the “contact me” button above.
We’ve made it!! One full year of praying together, and what a year it’s been! Today is the beginning of Sanctity of Human Life (SOHL) week…a fitting time to transition from one year of praying to the next!
We’ve talked about the subject of abortion from a lot of different angles over the course of the year. The pro-life movement is certainly about preserving life and offering options for unplanned pregnancies that do just that. But another reason for the tragedy of abortion to be eliminated is the devastation that so often follows in the lives of the parents involved. With many, the abortion is kept as a dark and painful secret for years, effecting every facet of their lives.
In many churches across the nation, next Sunday (the culmination of SOHL week) will find many women not attending, and those who are brave enough will likely be silently suffering through the service. These women make up 1/3 of your church and mine; walking wounded serving in our Sunday Schools, in our Women’s Ministries, and even as our pastors’ wives. Forgiven, but not healed.
Won’t you join me in promoting healing as you observe this special week? Please post this picture and keep it up all week, linking to the Surrendering the Secret web site, as it is a place where these precious women can finally find healing and freedom from this painful secret.
My friend, Pat Layton (author of STS), will also be posting every day this week on the Surrendering the Secret blog. Please post that link, too.
Finally, if you haven’t talked to your church about obtaining a copy of the STS Bible Study, PLEASE DO. It will start a movement of healing that has the capability of going from generation to generation. It’s so worth it.
It has been my honor and privilege to pray with you this last year. Our prayers have made a difference, because the Lord says it is so. Please continue with me, beginning next week, with Tammy Rude (Not Mine But God’s Story) as our host.
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
Matthew 21:22 NIV
Father God, we come to You today – many believers, one voice – to stand for life. Oh Lord, we praise You for moving through the prayers of Your people; for working in the heart of our president in ways that we may not be able to see, but can trust because of Your promises. Father, we thank You that, as a group of life-loving people, we’ve used our voices, acted within our civil rights, and done all we know to do for the unborn, in a way that’s unprecedented, THIS YEAR. This year that we’ve been praying and believing You to move in our country in a mighty way! You’ve done it Lord…faithfully moving in our Land. You are marvelous in Your ways, and we thank You in advance for all You will do in this new year. Keep us to it, Lord. Keep us to it. Believing You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, Amen!
Melinda, thank you so much for taking on the fight for the unborn by starting and leading this prayer team,"Changing One Heart for Many," to pray for our president, asking and believing God to change President Obama's heart in favor of these little unborn babies. You have done a wonderful job!! I will look forward to Tammy's leadership and will continue to pray for as long as it takes. Sharon (Mom)
Still praying…

Melinda, once again, thank you for your year of service to us, to our Lord, to hurting women and men, and to the unborn. May we all continue to faithfully pray!
In so many ways "thank you" for all you do as a wonderful sister in Christ. Your personal support, your prayer team leadership, and His Light that shines through you–these are all blessings I treasure.
Please, will you and your readers join me this week in a series entitled Bleeding Hearts?
