Changing One Heart for Many – Week 6

I’m writing from Sacramento, California, where I’ve had the privilege of attending a conference with my friend Pat Layton as keynote. As the author of Surrendering the Secret, she brought her message of hope and healing to 350 women over the course of the weekend. I was so blessed to watch as woman after woman filed to the front for prayer, many releasing their “secrets” of past abortion, and seeking healing from the pain they’d been carrying for years.

As I was getting ready to write this post, I was struck by the thought that, even though our president is pro-choice and there are so many things working against the cause for the unborn, there are still great strides being made for it. There are crisis pregnancy centers all over the country that are working tirelessly, and effectively, to provide scared young women with life-giving alternatives. There are women (and men) being healed of the heartbreak of past abortions, and they, in turn, are helping others heal. The very fact that we have a pro-choice president has the topic of abortion pushed to the forefront. People are talking about it. People who were complacent, or even felt somewhat “safe” with a pro-life president, are now becoming vocal and taking a stand. In short, God is moving.

Be encouraged today. Our prayers – our belief and agreement together – are making a difference.

SCRIPTURE FOCUS

The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord;
He directs it like a watercourse as He pleases.

Father God, we come in agreement today – many believers, one voice – to stand for life. We praise You for how You are moving, using our current circumstances to disturb us into action, and raising up more and more volunteers in positions that serve to replace pain and devastation with hope and healing. We ask You to open President Obama’s ears to the increased volume of those speaking on behalf of the unborn and help him to see Your handiwork for what it is. We thank You that the events of today are not a surprise to You, and that while our leader’s mind might be turned one way, it’s in Your ultimate control.

Believing You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. Amen

    Ezekiel 22:30 –
    “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.”

    Here we are LORD standing in the gap (in prayer)… Praise you that YOU hear our prayers and LORD you are at work! May you be glorified and may one heart be changed for many!

    Hello! I can’t begin to fathom the healing you witnessed first hand for these women and how GOOD GOD is! The obedience of Pat to share and love those women, that we also hunger to show Christ to and love on! Bless you both, Yolanda

    God is so awesome! You are so right that there is now more attention placed on how prevalent abortion has become in our nation. I stand with you in agreement of changing one heart for many.

    I wish I could have been there to hear Pat! God is moving in this and it’s exciting. More and more women are standing up and speaking about their “secret” and it’s going to have an amazing impact on others! HE is so good!

    I imagine your weekend incredible! To come alongside God and watch him work is a gift of sacred proportion. Yes, I’m praying and agree that our President has provoked some needed discussion and action in this particular area.

    Praying that God Himself would reveal TRUTH to President Obama and that Mr. Obama would have the courage to do what is right. Better yet – the conviction to do what is right.
