I saw a movie, once, where a guy was juggling tennis balls – a lot of them – and with the magic of Hollywood, the balls stopped moving in mid-air, and he walked out from under them as they hung there.

Ever feel like your life is going the way of the tennis ball? You’re trying to juggle a lot of different things, trying to stay in control of each and manage them all well, then it becomes too much? You get tired and realize that you just can’t keep it up anymore, or, worse, you’ve lost complete control. We don’t have that Hollywood magic in real life, so the balls come crashing to the ground.

Or, maybe the components of your life seem to be in the hands of others and they are the ones juggling them, as you helplessly look on, hoping and waiting to see where the balls land.

I’m really glad that, as a believer, I’m like the guy in the movie. There really is something supernatural happening, as I juggle the pieces of my life, while the Lord stands right behind me. When it gets to be too much (or if I’m really smart, before), I can turn the chaos over to Him, but instead of walking away, I can just lean into Him and rest. He’ll make sure it’s not too much, and if one of those balls needs to drop, He’ll take care of that, too.

Gives new meaning to “controlled chaos,” yes?

Praise God for that!
