Every Sunday is for His Words alone around here. Since it’s very likely freezing where you are, I decided to include several things about spring, and new life. It’s coming, folks. Believe it, or not, IT’S COMING!
Look around you: Winter is over;
the winter rains are over, gone!
Spring flowers are in blossom all over.
The whole world’s a choir—and singing!
Spring warblers are filling the forest
with sweet arpeggios.
Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed,
and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms. ~ Song of Solomon 2:11-12 MSGAsk the Lord for rain in the spring,
for he makes the storm clouds.
And he will send showers of rain
so every field becomes a lush pasture. ~ Zechariah 10:1 NLT
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” ~ Revelation 21:5 ESV
Forget about what’s happened;
don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’
—the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
rivers through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
the people I made especially for myself,
a people custom-made to praise me. ~ Isaiah 43:19-21 MSG
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. ~ Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
i needed this … doug just came in from blowing the new snow off the drive and walkways. i greeted him at the back door, eye glassed frosted over, as he said.. ‘it’s the coldest day yet’. and its march 2. by now we’ve usually seen our last snow, and our coldest weather and spring is looming just around any corner. i can’t remember a winter like this. at this moment it’s not just cold, it’s 5 below zero. this midwestern girl, who is grateful, blessed by the 4 distinct seasonal changes, is anticipating spring as never before.
