His Words (for when you’re feeling worthless)

Every Sunday around here is for His words instead of mine. If you’re feeling like you are worthless and don’t matter at all, I’m happy to tell you that you’re wrong! See?

What’s the price of two or three pet canaries? Some loose change, right? But God never overlooks a single one. This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him! – Romans 8:15-17 MSG

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. – 1 Peter 2:9-10
