We have all manner of plants out here on our little ranch. In the spring, I see a lot of blooms I’ve never seen before, and some are just exquisite. Really intricate in design, and look like art. Case in point:
I look at that and think what a great photo-on-canvas it would make, or how the pattern itself would make a great wallpaper. Just beautiful.
If you pull out a bit from the image, you can see that it’s round.
What an interesting addition to a floral arrangement, I consider to myself. Or maybe a round throw-pillow with this image on it.
It’s really all in the perspective of things, if you think about it…the way we frame them in our minds. Do we look only at the whole of a thing and take it for face value, or do we look more closely for the beauty beyond? In my experience, the reality is that we often discount or discard, even, something that is considered to have less to offer by virtue of what it is. But, I’ve found that when we do that, we can totally miss out on something special.
I’m thankful we can zero in past the obvious. Truly, it’s so much better to change our perspective. After all, without doing so, I wouldn’t have written this post at all. Because, well, this beautiful bloom?
It’s really only a weed.
“So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you…See things from His perspective.” Colossians 3:1-2 MSG
“God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face; God looks into the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 MSG
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done…” Genesis 50:20 NIV
Love this. I love mimosa trees, especially when in full bloom with their branches covered in bursts of pink flowers. My brother lives in Hawaii where they consider these trees to be nuisance weeds. It’s all about perspective.
