If you check in here regularly, specifically from a Facebook link on your computer (mobile devices seem unaffected), you know I’ve had a bit of trouble this week. I’ve been posting the link to my daily post just like I do every other day, but instead of pulling the first few lines of my post up under the title, it has been pulling, all on its own, an online pharmaceutical ad.
For Levitra.
Which is another form of Viagra.
Imagine my delight.
I’ve been changing passwords, talking to the site host, etc., and it’s been suggested that I quarantine my site while we get it figured out (so I’m posting it in full, here). I’ve been very frustrated by the whole affair because I’m one of those people who falls under the “people-pleaser” category. I’m not particularly proud of that, but it’s who I am. It matters to me (probably more than it should) what other people think, and it bothers me TO MY CORE that while I’m trying to throw some good out into the world – a gift from my heart with my name on the tag – some unknown person is trying to taint it by rolling that gift in manure first. I can tell you all day long that it’s a nice gift, but are you really going to want to open it to find out?
As I’ve thought about it, this really happens all the time. We have an enemy who is constantly trying to taint us and destroy our witness. If he can splash some vile concoction on us, perhaps through rumor or gossip or blatant malice, he can often cause just enough doubt that our good name is in question. A lot of times it’s completely out of our control, and it’s easy to feel there is no recourse.
But there is.
Certainly, we can work to eventually clear our name and make a stand for truth. But more, I believe we can conduct ourselves and our lives in such a way that anyone who hears the bogus claims will roll their eyes. They’ll not even be tempted toward doubt because know who we really are. Because they will know.
The long arm of the devil is amputated by truth. And that, right there, is cause for a gratitude fest.
I’m going to press on and get to the bottom of this whole manure scam, but I hope, by now, that you’ve gotten to know me well enough to accept this gift, even if it’s still a little grungy on the outside. I hope you’ll roll your eyes and tear into it, knowing that the inside is sincere and from the heart.
Oh, and if you’re here because you need an online pharmacy, welcome. You won’t find any drugs here, but if you stick around a while, you just might run across something that will fix what really ails you. 🙂
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 ESV
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 ESV
“Choose a good reputation over great riches;being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.” Proverbs 22:1 NLT
Ain’t it the truth, sweetie? I still have a vision of strong hands holding back the shifting sands, while I dig to find the hidden gold. Not in the need for pharmaceuticals – thank you- but always love His gift!
