I woke up this morning feeling excited. It’s the last full work week before we leave for Europe, and even now, even with the documents in my hands, it still doesn’t seem real.

We’ve been talking about Europe for a long, LONG time. I have long had a love of the romance of Europe, the feelings that are conveyed in the art and city-scapes, the ancient history, the music, the food. In particular, Italy grips me and draws me in with her spectacular light and Tuscan countryside. I fully expect to weep when my feet hit the ground.

There’s a certain surprise that comes when a long-cherished dream comes true. Sometimes we’ve dreamed them for so long that we’ve come to view them as only a dream and never a possible reality. Then, voilà! It’s real, and you begin to consider other dreams laying dormant. Might they have possibilities, too?

Of course, they do.

Sometimes – most times – it’s as simple as making a decision to do something. In our case, it was the decision to set aside the money and pick up the phone. In every case, it takes one step by the dreamer. And when that step is a step of faith, incredible things can happen. Dreams come true, yes. But sometimes they become your dreams on steroids, blown up and out into something beyond your most outlandish imaginings.

I’m stepping into this week with a spring in my step and a dream on my mind. Maybe you are, too, though you’ve been afraid to even consider the possibilities. Remember, all it takes is one step of faith, because, in God’s hands, well…

Sweet dreams – and REALITIES – are made of this.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20 NLT

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 NIV
